Training

At Sorrento Saints, we believe quality training is the foundation of player development. Every training session is carefully planned and delivered by our coaching team to provide a fun, engaging and challenging environment where players can develop their skills, confidence and game understanding.

Training Information

Training is compulsory for all athletes.

Age Groups: 12U, 13U, 15U, 18U, and Open.

Venue: Wanneroo Districts Netball Association (WDNA) Outdoor Courts

Time slots:

  • 4:30-6:00pm
  • 6:00-7:30pm
  • 7:30-9:00pm

Training times and court allocations are determined by the Coach Coordinator based on coach availability, team requirements and court availability. Final allocations are communicated prior to the commencement of the season.

Our Training Philosophy

Our coaches develop structured training plans that are tailored to the needs of each team throughout the season. Session focus on development both individual and team performance and may include:

  • Skill development and technical fundamentals
  • Position-specific coaching
  • Team structures and game strategies
  • Court application and decision making
  • Match play and game simulation
  • Fitness and movement development
  • Communication, teamwork and leadership

Everu training session incorporates the Netball Australia KNEE Program, an evidence-based warm-up design to reduce the risk of lower limb injuries and support athlete wellbeing and performance.

Attendance

Regular attendance at trainig is essential for individual development and team success. Training provides opportunities to learn new skills, build combinations, understand team structures and prepare for competition each week.

As training is compulsory, non-attendance may impact game time allocation in accordance with the Sorrento Saints Policies and Procedures. We encourage athletes to communicate any expected absences with their coach as early as possible.
