We’re excited to share some fantastic news about an upcoming partnership between Sorrento Saints Netball Club and MH Performance, a professional strength and conditioning coaching service.
This partnership has been put together with one goal in mind — helping our athletes become stronger, more resilient, and better prepared for the demands of netball. Participation in this program is compulsory for all athletes, and we strongly encourage families to treat this as the valuable opportunity it is. Programs like this are not something every club has access to, and we want to make sure our athletes get the absolute most out of it.
Here’s what’s included:
On-Court Strength & Conditioning Sessions
Your athlete will take part in structured 45-minute court-based S&C sessions delivered by MH Performance. These sessions are designed specifically for netball, focusing on strength, power, movement efficiency, and injury prevention.
The first round of sessions will take place on either 17th March or 24th March — each athlete will attend one of these dates. This will be followed up with a second round of sessions on either 28th April or 5th May. Your coach will be in touch to confirm which date your athlete has been allocated, and all session information will also be available on the club website. Please note that sessions may run slightly outside of your regular training time.
At-Home Training Program
Between the on-court sessions, athletes will complete a structured 6-week training program delivered through an easy-to-use app (Lumin Sports). This program will run between the March and April/May sessions, bridging the gap and keeping athletes progressing in between. It includes 2 sessions per week to complete at home, designed to complement what they’re doing on court. Compliance will be monitored and reported to the club to help keep athletes on track.
Coach Education Workshop
Our coaches will also be attending a professional development workshop on warm-ups and injury prevention, so the knowledge and best practices filter through to every training session.
What does this mean for your athlete?
Through this program, we expect athletes to experience:
• Improved strength, power, and movement quality
• Reduced risk of injury
• Greater confidence and resilience on the court
• Better performance consistency throughout the season
This is a fantastic opportunity for our club to provide a level of athlete development that will benefit players both this season and in the long term, and we look forward to seeing our athletes thrive.
